What should you expect when you schedule a photo session with Olive Tree Photography?
Expect to have fun. Expect the unexpected. Expect a casual, relaxed portrait session that captures not only your photograph, but a piece of who you are. The session can be designed around a vision for your portraits that comes from you, from us, or a combination of both, as well as freedom for inspiration as we go along.
We are a “go with the flow” team and believe that some of the best portraits happen by surprise, not as a result of meticulous planning. We typically use available, natural light in an outdoor setting.
Session Location:
We have many preferred locations, however, we can work using your own home as the perfect setting for both family and baby sessions. We will spend the first few minutes of your session selecting the best available lighting and backdrops.
Children’s Sessions:
We are known for capturing natural expressions of the children we photograph. One of the key ingredients is that our clients allow us to interact with our favorite little subjects without the strained smile of a child forced by mom or dad to smile or giggle.
Children relax and can be themselves when we are on the floor playing with them or just “hanging out” on their level (literally). Please be prepared to hang back and observe during the time we are capturing your child being his or her natural self. Plan on allowing us to capture the natural personality of your child(ren).

Family Sessions:
Our family work is contemporary and modern and created with a “storybook” approach. Our style for a family session is casual and relaxed. If you choose Olive Tree Photography for your Family Portrait, you are looking for a unique, custom portrait that seeks to capture the essence of who your family is in everyday life.
Our family sessions have been described as “fun”, “casual”, “real life”, “lifestyle”, and “photojournalistic”. We ask that you simply…interact. Be yourselves. Talk, laugh, and relax. Just being who you are is what our style is all about.
Previewing Your Images:
At the conclusion of your photo session, we will schedule your preview appointment. Your images will be available within 10 to 14 days after your photo session (depending on the season and our proofing schedule). Do you have a deadline? Please ask us if we can rush. We will make every effort to accommodate your needs.
Delivery of Your Portraits:
Your portrait order will be personally delivered when available, or priority shipped directly to your home.
Upon placing your order, your prints will be ready within approximately 2 to 4 weeks (please allow longer for specialty items, framing and special requests on crops and artistic versions as well as custom coffee-table books or albums). If you are in need of prints for a special occasion, please allow adequate time or call ASAP to check our schedule as we may be able to arrange for rush delivery.
